What issues should be addressed in vermiculite board production? Various problems may arise during the manufacturing process, typically stemming from raw material selection and mixing. Vermiculite board production can be both simple and complex. For seasoned manufacturers, these challenges pose no significant issues. However, for newly established manufacturers with limited experience, these issues may disrupt production schedules and affect delivery timelines. Therefore, whether you are an established or new manufacturer, I strongly recommend maintaining constant vigilance over factors influencing vermiculite board production. Only by doing so can we produce superior vermiculite boards and gain greater customer recognition.

 First, let's discuss key considerations in raw material selection. Expanded vermiculite is indispensable for vermiculite board production. When sourcing expanded vermiculite, prioritize high-quality material. Coarser vermiculite powder with uniform particle size is typically used for board manufacturing. Vermiculite boards are produced by mixing vermiculite with a binder, so we also require this binder material. When selecting binders, we should choose those manufactured by reputable suppliers, preferably opting for high-temperature resistant binders with minimal chemical additives. This benefits both the health of our production workers and the end users. Additionally, thorough mixing of vermiculite and adhesive is essential. Inadequate mixing may result in boards prone to breaking and crumbling.

During the pressing process, another issue arises that many manufacturers may overlook: regardless of the binder used, a significant amount of binder material is squeezed out along with the solvent during compression. This phenomenon must be avoided. We can only take corresponding measures to reduce binder overflow. Adding fibrous materials during mixing—such as plant or mineral fibers like asbestos fibers—binds the vermiculite particles together. This not only prevents binder overflow but also enhances the strength of the vermiculite board, achieving two goals at once. Of course, this decision should be based on actual circumstances.
