Vermiculite bricks are manufactured using expanded vermiculite as raw material, combined with an appropriate amount of binder. After being lightly pressed into shape, they undergo drying or baking to produce uniform-shaped thermal insulation and heat-resistant products. Types include cement-bonded vermiculite bricks, water glass-bonded vermiculite bricks, and asphalt-bonded vermiculite bricks. These bricks offer excellent thermal and acoustic insulation properties with broad applications. However, their strength is relatively low, with compressive strength <2.45MPa; they also have a low melting point, limiting their service temperature range to 800–1100°C. their refractoriness and high-temperature performance are inferior to other refractory materials. Consequently, their application is restricted—they are unsuitable for load-bearing structures or as insulation in high-temperature environments. Vermiculite bricks are extensively used in roofing, soundproofing, thermal insulation fittings, and kiln linings. Available in various dimensions, they are custom-produced to meet client specifications for length, width, thickness, and density. They can be produced through secondary processing or mold fabrication. Within equipment, vermiculite bricks primarily serve to insulate and reduce heat loss while also providing thermal insulation, preventing excessive external temperatures. Key advantages include lighter weight compared to standard clay refractory bricks, customizable shapes for specific applications, ease of installation, and straightforward handling.
