The country primarily exports vermiculite raw materials, with finished products rarely utilized domestically. However, domestic market demand has gradually increased in recent years. Characteristics of fire door core vermiculite boards: non-combustible, non-melting, and high-temperature resistant. As expanded vermiculite is the primary raw material, this inorganic material contains no carbon and does not burn. Its melting point ranges from 1370 to 1400°C, with a maximum service temperature of 1200°C, alongside enduring thermal insulation properties.
Fire-resistant vermiculite core panels are manufactured by uniformly blending 800–1000°C expanded vermiculite, inorganic additives, and binders in specific proportions. The mixture is molded, pressed into shape, undergoes low-temperature curing, and is dried at high temperatures. As a porous material, vermiculite panels contain billions of micrometer-sized pores (one-seventieth the diameter of a human hair) per cubic centimeter. Their exceptional porosity ensures stable thermal conductivity even in high-temperature environments, making them the material of choice for fireproofing, insulation, thermal barrier, and soundproofing applications.
